KID KONNECTION

We love children here at Christ Church, friends both old and new!  We have a VERY gifted crew of volunteer teachers and assistants who long to share their love of God and His word with children.

Our Children’s Ministry has 4 overarching goals:

1.Support parents in becoming the spiritual leaders of their children

2.Developing a RELATIONSHIP with God- Kid’s learn to talk and hear from God.

3.Learn to navigate the Bible

4.See the overarching story of the Bible and see that it’s all about Jesus!

Our preschoolers are using a program called Show me Jesus and the 1st-6th graders are using David C. Cook’s Rio. Both curriculums take kids on a journey through the overarching story of the Bible. By the time they ‘graduate’ from our children’s ministry they will have potentially been through the whole biblical story 3 times. Every Sunday they are opening the Bible and exploring the next part of the redemptive story.

We want them to know the stories in the Bible but more importantly we want them to know the God who wrote those stories. So when life happens they KNOW/have a relationship with the God they serve and they can continue on their journey to making their faith their own. Both curriculums are designed with activities and discussions questions to help kids discover who this God of the Bible is all while having a great time and enjoying being at church.  

We seek to provide parents with materials to disciple their kids on a daily basis. Parents are informed of the passage covered in class each week as well as the passage that will be covered the following week. There are discussion questions and memory verses to continue the spiritual formation of your child all week long. We also offer tri-fold cards each month with 6 new activities to do as a family which often involve acts of service.

NURSERY

We have quality nursery workers who care for those under the age of 3. Currently they are using Gospel Light’s Baby Beginnings which seeks to guide kids’ first steps toward knowing and loving Jesus. You are welcome to leave children in the nursery until the service is over or you can come and pick them up when the older kids enter the service. Whatever you prefer is great.

This ministry cannot happen with just our Children’s Minister alone. We have many teachers and volunteers that make it possible. If you are interested in being a part of children’s ministry please let us know.
